| This dress was made early in 2007. It has been worn about 8 times this year by an 11 year old. The bodice fabric is a silver holographic lycra which was sourced in Singapore late last year. The shapes on the front of the bodice are made of black satin - which has then had white motifs (Celtic A’s) machine embroidered on them. There are many large crystal diamantes then attached (glued) onto the black shapes – giving the front bodice a lot of bling. The bodice of the dress is lined with black lining fabric. The front of the skirt is comprised of black sewn sequins, similar motifs to the bodice and the orange panel - which have satin behind orange sewn sequin chiffon. This gives the front of the skirt a soft look. The sides of the front skirt are made of a light black polyester sequin fabric which has been stiffened so the skirt front sits flat. The front skirt then has a stiffened panel behind it so the dress does not get caught between the dancer’s legs when they kick up. (On teachers advice). The back bodice fabric has “rubbed off” in a small area near where the Velcro is sewn onto the left shoulder area and in a small area to the right of that also. I think this rubbing occurred during transportation in our carry bag (silly me!!). (The price reflects this small area of damage.) Once the cape is attached this rubbed area is not visible however. The back of the skirt is fairly soft – allowing the dancer to sit down without damaging the back of the dress - but is stiffened in the bottom half of the skirt. The back has reverse pleats. The fabric is silver sewn sequins and was sourced in Dubai early this year – so hopefully is quite unique! I have not seen it on any other dresses. The sleeves are orange sewn sequin chiffon to the elbows and then a frill of the black sewn sequin (unlined) has been added. The cape is made of the same orange chiffon – with a motif at each end. The skirt is lined with a bright fluoro monkey print cotton – it’s quilting fabric actually – and gets lots of comments!!! The dress is also VERY light due to the light fabrics used in it's construction. No bloomers or headband – dancer wore a bun – but extra fabric can be sent - please email me about this. Measurements. Total length - back - 27 inches Total length front - 24.5 inches Chest – 26-27 inches Waist - 24 inches Hip/Dropped waist - 27.28 inches Sleeve - 20 inches Point of Neck to dropped waist – 12.5 inches Dropped waist to bottom - 12 inches.
