This latest Gavin Doherty design is composed of a
snugly-fitting velvet bodice and multi-panel skirt, and has
been worn only twice by dancer no longer solo dancing. It is
newly lined, free of tan, make-up and odour, and comes with
matching leotard and headpiece. The yellow fabric of the
panels in the skirt is overlaid with transparent sequined
fabric, which makes the design appear even more dynamic
when on stage, particularly as the dancer moves and the
fabric glimmers subtly. The pattern is enhanced by large
SS40 diamantes with which the neckline, bodice, cuffs
and skirt are encrusted. A layer of red, sequined lace skims
the base of the skirt, the same fabric which is used as the
overlaying fabric of the shawl; beneath is bright lemon silk,
which enhances the intricacy of the lace. This elegant dress
is eye-catching, and impossible to ignore on stage. Spare
fabric remains in the lining to allow for any necessary
adjustments.
